Creativity in Action
"To have joy in your heart, one must know how to appreciate the small things in life."
I first picked up a camera at the age of nine years old and have been taking pictures ever since. They say that the first 100,000 shots is learning how to take a picture - I can certainly say I've found this to be true.
I started with an old Polaroid camera but quickly moved on to a Pentax K1000 where I cut my teeth as it were. I continued with this camera until I finally went over to digital with a Canon 20D.
Taking pictures is a joy
The camera enables me to "see" what is in front of me. It is a mechanism to stop and focus on something - to look at it's shape and colour, it's weight and texture. It provides me with a conduit to feel what is there and what it is says to me.
Whether that is a raging sea, the pattern of a ferns shadow on the ground or the stunning beauty of a seagulls eye. This is what the joy of taking photos gives me.
